Westside Warriors Battle to Beat Cancer

My name is Joel Woznikoski and I am entering my fourth and final season with the Westside Warriors Junior A Hockey Club. I am very proud to announce our Battle to Beat Cancer fundraising event. The Warriors battle begins in September 2009; this will be the inaugural season for what I hope will become an annual tradition for all Westside Warrior hockey players.

During the first 30 games of the season two dollars will be donated by me for every goal that our team scores, our team scored 104 goals in the first 30 games last season. I am challenging my teammates as well as our fans and the local business community of West Kelowna to join the cause as well. My hope is that we can all come together through hockey to make this a huge success.

Donations to match me, double me, or any amount you feel you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. My goal is $5,000 which will be donated directly to the Canadian Cancer Society of British Columbia and Yukon. A link will be available on the Westside Warriors website (www.westsidewarriors.ca). The Canadian Cancer Society has created a page for this event as well. Pledge forms are available from me personally or stop by the Warriors office Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tax receipts are available upon request.
